The Laurence School Instrumental
Music Program is open to all students
in grades Kindergarten through six. (See photos.)
The program is directed by Larry
Newman. Laura Ryan and Desiree’ Deasy
are the music specialists.
Weekly classes are offered for 30 to 40
minutes each Wednesday.
Instruction
is available on violin, cello, recorder, flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet
and baritone horn.
Kinder and first graders may choose violin or recorder.
Second graders may choose violin, flute, clarinet and trumpet.
Third graders and up may choose violin, cello, flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet and baritone horn.
Instruction begins on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 and runs through
the school year with concerts on February 29, 2012 and May 30,
2012 at 3:30 PM. Please mark your calendars early.
A music fee of $425 for the 2011-2012 school year is requested
from each participant. This fee includes all music, books and basic
supplies which your child is given. In addition, there is a $20
Laurence School administrative fee. The only other expense will be
the lease, rental or purchase of the instrument.
Class size is limited and priority is given to
the earliest applicants. Please complete the online application
to reserve a spot.
Once the application has been completed, please
print a hard copy and mail it along with your check to the
address below.

Hollywood, CA. For the fourth consecutive year, Children's
Music Workshop was nominated in the Children/Youth category
for the All Schools Elementary Honor Orchestra broadcast from
